The Knights lost to Springfield Jan. 9 and Rock Island (by just one point) early in the season.

On Saturday, the fifth-ranked Knights came out on the winning end of big matchup between ranked teams when they defeated Champaign Centennial, 63-47.

Centennial entered the game undefeated (its 37-game winning streak was the longest in the state) and ranked No. 1 in Class 3A.

The Knights outrebounded the Chargers, 34-24.

Friday night, also at home, Richwoods beat Woodruff, 79-44, to improve to 4-0 in the Mid-State 6 Conference.

The Knights have a two-game lead in the conference (every other team has at least two conference losses).
