Noe leds Eureka golf team

Tom Batters
Quint Noe

Quint Noe is only a junior, but that doesn’t mean much to his coach, Aaron Dohner.

“Quint approaches the game in a mature way,” Dohner said. “He has experience and confidence. He plays more like a senior.”

Noe shot a 39 to lead the Hornets to a victory over Midland Aug. 24 at Kaufman Park. Robbie Rieke shot a 40, followed by Gabe Swords (41), Nate Hartman (43), and Bryce Knapp (43).

Noe said he is confident that he can lead the Hornets to a Sectional, even though many of the starts from last year’s Regional championship team graduated.

“We played a lot of good competition last year, and we learned from that experience (advancing to the Sectional),” he said. “I think we can do it again.”

Noe played countless rounds of golf throughout the summer to get ready for the season. He said he feels comfortable with how his swing is coming along.

“I don’t have any rust,” he said. “The season just started, but I feel like it’s the middle of the season already. I feel pretty good, but I always want to get better.”
