When all else fails, unleash a full-court press and see what happens.

That's what Eureka High School girls basketball coach Adam Zehr did Dec. 28 after his team struggled to stop Seneca in the first half.

He used an aggressive full-court press for most of the second half and his team overcame a double-digit defecit to win the game, 47-44.

The Hornets trailed 30-19 at halftime and 41-31 at the end of the third quarter before outscoring Seneca, 16-3, in the fourth quarter.

Kalla Gold's free throw with 1:05 left gave Eureka its first lead of the game. Gold, who scored a game-high 24 points, hit two more free throws with 18 seconds left to clinch the victory.

Seneca missed a three-pointer in the final 10 seconds and Eureka junior Shelby Kupferschmid grabbed the rebound and held the ball as the final seconds ticked off the clock.
