The Eureka High School baseball team defeated Bloomington Central Catholic 8-6 Thursday to earn a spot in the Eureka Regional championship game on Saturday.

Collin Schoonover went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Cody Litwiller, Cole Steffen, Joseph Anderson and Quint Noe also had key hits for the Hornets. Noe had two RBIs.

Anderson gave up nine hits and five walks, but hung on to earn the victory.

Eureka lost to top-seeded IVC 15-0 in the championship game Saturday. IVC scored 12 runs in the second inning after scoring three in the first.

Eureka finished the season with a 17-15 record.
