Metamora High School Softball

Metamora senior shortstop Maddie Anglin received first team all-state honors as part of the 16-player Class 3A all-state first team, which was announced last week.
Senior first baseman Kasey Kanaga and junior pitcher Erica Phillips made the second team.
Anglin led the Redbirds with a .504 batting average and 35 RBIs. She hit four home runs, 14 doubles and scored 46 runs.
Kanaga hit .465 and scored a team-high 50 runs. She led the Redbirds with 32 stolen bases and made just three errors in 106 chances at second base.
Phillips went 32-5 with a 1.48 earned run average. She struck out 174 batters in 227 innings. She also hit .359 with 14 doubles and 27 RBIs.
Metamora (34-5) won the Mid-Illini Conference and a Regional title before falling to Geneseo in the East Moline Sectional final.
