The 2012-13 Metamora girls basketball season is over.

The team lost in the Bloomington Regional to Normal U-High, 59-29, Feb. 11.

The Redbirds were playing catch-up from the get-go when the Pioneers started on an 18-2 run.

Pressure from Normal U-High forced the Redbirds into poor shot selection and turnovers in the early goings.

With the ball, the Pioneers had no problem knocking down shots from all over the court.

Closer to halftime, the Redbird offense began to click and Carrie James began sinking shots over Pioneer defenders.

James led the team with 13 points.

At halftime, Metamora trailed, 34-13.

The third quarter saw the Redbird offense again lagging while the U-High offense poured on the points.

The Redbirds never gave up but, in the end, the Pioneers were too much for them to handle.
