Runnin’ Red competes well in First to the Finish

The Metamora cross country team may have had an off week with duals, but the Runnin’ Red didn’t shy away when running in the First to the Finish meet at Detweiller Park Saturday.

The boys team was able to rush through for sixth place out of the 51 teams present in the 2A division.

Jake Gillum led the Metamora boys for 15th overall at 15:26.8. Matt Wipfler was next in at 16:05.7 and John Crotteau followed crossing the finish line at 16:15.

Keaton McClure finished at 16:23.4 and on his heels was John Mangold in fifth for Metamora at 16:29.0.

In sixth for the Runnin’ Red was Ryan Meyer at 16:53.7 and Nick Koval followed in seventh for Metamora at 16:59.8.

The lady Runnin’ Red team ran for 13th out of the 51 teams in the girls 2A race.

Kaitlyn Benson was in front for Metamora in 26th overall at 18:45.6.

Cassy Fitzgibbons was next at 19:56 and Bethany Spradlin followed at 20:13.8.

Katie Kessler was fourth for Metamora at 20:19.1 and Katie Pitts was right behind at 20:20.3.

Ellie Osko followed at 20:27.2 with Lexi Greives in seventh for Metamora at 20:50.2.
