Redbird golf hosts classic

The Metamora boys and girls golf teams hosted its 17th annual Redbird Classic at Metamora Fields Saturday.

The Lady Redbirds were able to pull out a Mid-Illini Conference victory of Limestone Sept. 8.

Metamora girls 193, Limestone 211

The Metamora girls golf team earned another Mid-Illini Conference victory with a win over Limestone, 193-211, at Metamora fields Sept. 8.

Leading the Lady Redbirds was Laura Wipfler with a 45. Mamie Ambrosch followed with a 47 and Katie Trout was behind with a 49.

Kelsey Trout and Kristen Worner both marked 52s on the card after the front nine. 

Redbird Classic

In Metamora’s annual home golf tournament, the Redbird Classic, the girls team was able to shoot for third with a team score of 390.

Leading the Lady Redbirds was Laura Wipfler, finishing with a 91 after 18 holds for seventh. 

Mamie Ambrosch shot a 97 and Katie Troutt marked a 98 on the card.

Kelsey Troutt rounded in with a 104 and Kirsten Worner closed in for Metamora with a 114.

Lincoln High School was the overall winner in the girls tourney after shooting a team score of 370.

The boys were able to score a 327 team score for sixth.

Lucas Munter was second overall in the tourney after marking a 70 after 18.

Dominic Shaheen was next for the Redbirds shooting an 83.

Matt Ambrosch finished with an 85 and Gage Drier shot an 89 with Peyton Biernat right behind with a 90.

Ryan Coughlin rounded in for Metamora with a 94. 

Morton took first in the tourney with a 305.
