Metamora falls at Dunlap

Metamora girls tennis’ four-year winning streak against Dunlap is over.

The Redbirds lost at Dunlap on Aug. 28, 6-3.

Picking up wins for Metamora in singles action was Melissa Ringenberg at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-3, and Lauren Parks at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

The longest match of the day featured a pair of cousins facing off against each other.

Unfortunately for the Redbirds, Jessica Hemmer won, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. The match lasted more than three and a half hours.

In doubles action, the team of Sharyn Axelson/Olivia Tran won in three sets at the No. 3 position, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.

Metamora almost picked up a win at No. 2 doubles as well. The team of Parks/Brianna Kiesewetter lost, 6-3, 2-6, 10-8.
